piece together the mysterious links of corruption, lies and scandal in a
baby selling racket. Both Sunny & Sheree join forces to become a very
successful specialist Private Investigation team in Australia
SUNNY
Survival of the Human Spirit.
Her first true love reappears in Sunny’s life, only to experience the forces
that again conspire to interfere. Bestowed with a lifetime of adventure
Sunny is led into eventually becoming a successful specialist private
investigator, unraveling many mysteries involving young mothers in the
sixties.
The Journey Begins.
The Nomadic Fenwar Family
consist of Dora, a classical pianist, Andrew, a publican, and their four
children Sunny, Jane, Jonathon and Paul. At 16 Sunny is tragically separated
from Keiran, her first love, and sent in disgrace to a church home to have
her baby. Humming Happy Birthday to herself in the labour ward Sunny is
subjected to the most horrendous conditions during the birth of her baby.
After being denied the opportunity to see or nurse her baby, this fragile
and broken-spirited young girl sits curled up in the corner of a carriage of
an old steam train headed out west. As the train chugs through the
drought-ridden countryside, she reflects on her last conversation with
Sheree, her room mate at the church home. They pledge to one day find their
stolen babies and uncover the mystery of the antique bracelet and to locate
her long lost father.
Sunny’s Life in the Outback.
Sunny returns to the bush
town to work on the local telephone exchange. At eighteen she marries David,
a local bush worker who proposes to her whilst shearing a bloodied sheep. He
pledges to teach her to build outdoor dunnies, fence cattle yards and crutch
lambs. Nana the Nazi and Pop the Undertaker attend Sunny and David’s wedding
but find the flies, aborigines, thirty five degree heat and the outdoor
dunny too much to bear. Sunny adapts to living life in a five-bay horse
stables, carts furniture from the town dump on a railway trolley, helps her
husband build a home, mends fences, lights a “donkey” for hot water, reads
to her three children at night by the kerosene lamp and cooks meals on a
metho stove. Twenty years later, Sunny divorces David when his personal
demons return to destroy the family unit.
The Mystery Deepens.
Sunny establishes a Music
Academy where she meets John who wears an unusual piece of jewelry, similar
to Sheree. At a Christmas concert John presents a red-haired pupil with an
award for the best pianist in her age group. Who is she? A reunion with
Sunny’s long-lost baby, the death of her mother and John open the flood
gates for Sunny that sets her on a path of self-destruction, leading her to
eventual clarity. Years later, a reunion with her first love is once again
snatched from her arms.
A grandmother, mother and son sit on the floor unwrapping presents amidst
laughter and tears. Their mysterious journey has also come to an end. Who
are they?
Celebrating the 60’s in the 90’s.
A celebration night of rock
and roll for Andrew, Tony, six of Sunny’s room mates from the church home
and Sunny ends this story of survival of the human spirit. Two special
guests dance together.
